Meet Our CEO
Michelle Calcagni, CEO/Founder
Michelle founded PhoneBox in 2016 to address the critical gap between audience understanding and effective engagement strategies. Her collaborative approach emphasizes open-minded thinking, data-driven insights, and pragmatic solutions that deliver real results. Drawing from decades of experience across startups, nonprofits, and Fortune 200 companies, she connects organizations with their audiences through actionable strategies that support clients’ goals.
As a passionate advocate for entrepreneurs, Michelle dedicates significant time to working with startups, helping them navigate growth challenges and build sustainable engagement strategies. This startup focus complements her experience across larger organizations, giving her a unique perspective on scaling communication approaches for businesses at any stage.
Her global perspective was shaped by living as an expatriate in Europe, Asia, and South America and holding regional leadership roles that spanned multiple countries. This international immersion, combined with experience across industries from aerospace to food distribution, gives her a unique approach to problem-solving. Michelle holds an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is Six Sigma Plus Green Belt certified.
Beyond the office, Michelle is passionate about giving back. This commitment extends to PhoneBox’s pledge to dedicate at least 10% of our resources to supporting women- and minority-owned small businesses.

One Day in London...
A creative expert, a marketing guru and a clever strategist walked into a pub, talking about how hard it was to find a firm that combined global insights and wide-ranging expertise with strong return on investment. It wasn’t the first time they’d talked about this challenge.
Michelle Calcagni created that firm.
